The Race across Italy 2020 is an unsupported bicycle race across Italy open to solo and pair riders, in single stage, where the clock never stops from the start to finish line.
Start will be on April 24, 2021 at 10:00 am from our beautiful Silvi Alta
In #RAI2020 riders plan/look for their own track and have to manage navigation, logistics, self reliance with mandatory check points(CP) that will guarantee to cycle some of the most beautiful landscape/cities in Italy.
Simple in words but difficult in reality for many factors in the field; therefore some of you will ride for the race and many with the only target to finish
Our vision for RAI2020 is not to have the hardest race in the world… but of course an amazing experience across Italy and every year different; in 2021 CP will be in the centre/north Italy and in 2022 will be in the centre/south Italy

2nd CP -> Ivrea
3rd CP -> Imperia
4th CP -> Florence
5th CP -> Monte Argentario

Why RAI 2020 ?
…because it’s a race across Italy of around 2000Km in consideration of the mandatory check points and this new challenge start with the Zero edition on that year!
Rules
The Race across Italy 2020 is a self-supported bicycle race across Italy, in single stage, on a bicycle for solo or pair riders without any external support.
The clock never stops from the start and solo/ pair riders manage their own route via mandatory check points in self supported way.
First of all The rules are for your safety and have to guarantee a fair challenge along all the event.
If you want to be a Race across Italy 2020 finisher you’ve to follow these main rules
- Ride from the start to the finish line following the mandatory check points specified on the Brevet Card.
- No external support. All food, drink and equipment must be carried or acquired at commercially available services.
- No drafting (only in pairs category rider can draft his mate).
- All riders must maintain evidence of their ride and pay attention that tracker works
- Insurance, cycle helmets and safety equipments for the nights (lights, reflective vest and so on) are mandatory.
- Riders must know and observe Italian traffic laws.
- Ride in the self-support mode for all the track
- No Time Limit
Solo Rider
Rider have to plan/look for their own track and to manage navigation, logistics, self reliance with mandatory check points(CP).
Main rule is no draft and if a rider meet another can stay side by side for not more then 30 minutes for all the time race; in case we’ll check a longer period these riders will be move to pair riders category.
Pair Riders
In the pairs category, riders act as a single unit and may share food, beverage and equipment. Only in this category rider can draft his mate and they can share resources between themselves
Trackers
We’ll give our tracker and is a rider’s responsibility to look after their tracker and maintain its signal or collect evidence of their ride to prove they rode in the spirit of the rules.
Is there a time limit?
No time limit but take into consideration that in arrival point we’ll wait for riders
till May 2, 2020 at 11 am. Riders that will be there later can send to us proof of their arrival by message and with some pictures too.
What is a check point?
A check point is a mandatory location that riders must navigate in order to validate their participation in the race. We chose Check points in way that riders have to cycle some of the most beautiful landscape across Italy
The Check Point is often in a local business such as a hotel, bar, camping, where rider can validate the arrival time with a stamp in Brevet Card.
In case of the CP closure a rider is responsible to take evidence of the transit with a picture and a message to race manager

- What is the Rider Agreement?
This is an agreement between ASD Bike &Dreams and rider that accept every points after completing registration procedure.
It should be considered carefully by all the riders because If a rider breaks the terms of this agreement they could be excluded from the race.
- How do registration procedure work?
- You’ve to fill pre-registration form on our website
- Please fill carefully Sport Curriculum in the form because we evaluate carefully it and accept on RAI2020 only riders with experience in self supported ride (if you’ve not experience we suggest you to registrate in Race across Italy “Adriatico-Tirreno-Adriatico” self supported category with fixed route, bag drop service, time station with food/beverage and guarantee rescue along the track)
- We’ll reply within a week and in case of acceptance, you’ll receive riders agreement document and payment info
- Rider’ registration will be completed when we’ll receive copy of riders agreement fill and payment receipt
- Can I have a media crew follow me on the race?
Any media car follow will need written permission from the Race Manager
- Do I need a tracking device?
No, because with registration is included tracker. Please remember that during check in each rider will need to provide a €150 security deposit on each tracker used and this will be refundable upon safe return of the device.
- Can I use my own tracking device?
No, every body have to use the tracker included in your registration fee and linked to our Website tracking Service

Pre-registration here
- I am racing in a pair, do we both need to register?
No, it’s enough a registration in the form of one “team” but you’ve to inform us of all the data for both riders
- Transfer or Withdrawal of Entries
Registration are not refundable but in case of problems we can move to the next year (one time)
- Bike
Any standard commercial bike is permitted with reasonable personal modifications. In case the participation of Tandems and Recumbents we’ll create a special category because they allow a rider to compete in different way
- Next of Kin
Riders will need to submit details of next of kin for emergency contact. ASD Bike&Dreams will send all next of kin a copy of the rider agreement to make sure they know that the rider knows what they have signed up for.
